Unified Muslim Community leased a small space on E 14th in San Leandro less than 1000 sqft.
The place is too small that we’re often get too crowded
It was too small for brothers that we had to accommodate the ladies in tent on the back
Served with portable PA system for sound that was unreliable.
However, we manage to make do with what we have and have a close-knit with our community, especially the children
Alhamdulillah Allah had made the property next door to us available for sale. It has large parking lot and it even includes a 3-bedroom 1-bathroom house. On the picture below, the old masjid is on yellow shade, the new one is green shade.
By the grace of Allah and with support of our local community and many surrounding communities, we were able to purchase the property riba-free seller-financing for a little over $1 million.

- Down payment: $256,000
- Loan term: $768,750 for 7 years.
- Monthly payment $3,000
- Annual balloon payment $73,822 due in April 1 every year for 7 years.
The property was a Korean bar / Karaoke place. We needed $225,000 for the renovation. We’re thankful to Allah for not only giving us a place to worship, but converting a place of ma’siah on the way. Where people used to sing are a place to read the Qur’an. Where the disco balls hung on the ceiling is replaced by speakers with words of praise of Allah coming out of it.
